ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:

• Develop customer facing web applications with the Rails framework and Ruby language
• Excellent hands-on Ruby coding ability with a deep knowledge of the RoR framework
• Programming skills using JavaScript (JQuery or AJAX)
• Database development experience
• An interest and familiarity with rich front-end technology (HTML and CSS)
• API integration experience (especially in relation to mapping needs)
• Strong knowledge of spreadsheet integration with output needs
• Agile environment experience with leadership abilities
• Analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills
• Must have experience in code upgrades to existing software
• Work well under pressure and meet deadlines as required
• Must be able to provide accurate time estimates and meet deadlines

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Developing modern web based applications through new initiatives and optimization of current functions.
• Troubleshooting problem areas to obtain the best solution from both internal and user-facing standpoints.
• Focusing on test driven development to help the efficiency of existing and future code.
• Utilizing a prioritized ticket based system where initiatives will be ranked for time management and effective prioritization of needs.
• Working with software manager in order to provide the best employee and client facing web-based software experience.

WHO WE ARE:

We are a media planning and placement agency that has been in business for over 25 years. Our software was built for media buyers, by media buyers. Our proprietary system was initially built 5 years ago. Since then, we have been upgrading and updating to keep up with the demands of in-house media buyers as well as client needs. As our needs and technology advance, we are in need of a standing developer to help continue the advancement of the software.
