Advertising in Detroit, MI
Detroit was founded in 1701 by a French explorer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac. Upon the construction of the freeway system during the 1950’s and 1960’s, it became a significant metropolitan area. The city’s population has continued to decline the past two decades due to its weakened economy. However, the downtown area continues to attract people with its many casinos, stadiums, and plans to revitalize the riverfront area. Detroit has two frequently used nicknames: the Motor City for its automotive manufacturing, and Motown for its reputation as a pioneer in the music industry.
